Autoridad y poder en el Siglo de Oro

The University of Oxford participates in a research network with the Universidad de Navarra (GRISO, Grupo de Investigación Siglo de Oro), Université Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III (Centre de Recherche sur l’Espagne des XVIe et XVIIe siècles), and the Universität Münster, on the topic of ‘Autoridad y poder en el Siglo de Oro’. The universities collaborate on a series of colloquia and workshops with the aim of producing a volume of essays at the end of each cycle (2007- 2008). Oxford hosted the second session of the research network in 2007, focusing on the topic of ‘Autoridad y autoría’. This first cycle of activities resulted in the following publication: Autoridad y poder en el Siglo de Oro, eds. Ignacio Arellano, Christoph Strosetzki, Edwin Williamson (Madrid: Iberoamericana & Frankfurt, Vervuert, 2009) 294 pp. The general theme of the second cycle (2009-2011) is ‘La crítica del poder’, and the first meeting was held in Paris in November 2009.
