My research is mainly concerned with the cultural and literary history of the Soviet Union, especially the relationship between cultural producers and the state. My current project is a study of censorship and the Soviet censor. I have also published on the censorship of Soviet translation, incuding my book, Dilemmas of Regulation and Resistance: Censoring Translation in the Stalin and Khrushchev Era Soviet Union (Edinburgh University Press, 2015).
