Ms Jenny Lemke

I studied English, German and History for teaching qualification at the University of Siegen in Germany, where I completed my First State Examination in 2014. As part of my studies, I spent 6 months in Newcastle, where I worked as an intern at Newcastle University. I then went on to do my teacher training at a secondary school in Münster (Germany) and got awarded my Second State Examination in 2016, making me a fully qualified teacher for Secondary Schools (Gymnasien und Gesamtschulen).

I am now a “DAAD-Lektorin” (lecturer in German), which means that I am part of the German Academic Exchange Service (i.e. “DAAD”) and teach UG courses for Exeter, Wadham, Brasenose, Trinity, Balliol, Merton and Pembroke.

I’m particularly interested in the world of Middle High German, including the depiction of women and religious symbolism in Parzival, and the field of Passionsfrömmigkeit and devotional teachings/manuals for laypeople.
