Myrto Aspioti

I am currently looking at how narrative form structures notions of identity in recent German-language novels. My thesis will include, among others, chapters on authors Wolfgang Herrndorf, Saša Stanišić and Eva Menasse.

Apart from German literature and visual culture after 1945 and narrative theory, I am interested in film and media studies, twentieth-century French and German thought, and comedy.

I have taught undergraduate courses in German grammar, translation from German into English and French film. I have also held sessions on German film, twentieth-century German literature and French film for outreach initiatives at Oxford. In Hilary Term 2017 I completed the Developing Learning and Teaching programme offered by the Oxford Learning Institute.
