National Identity in Russia from 1961 : Traditions & Deterritorialisation
We plan a substantial number of monographs, book chapters, and articles in both English and Russian in order to disseminate the results of the project. Further information on output will be posted on this webpage.
A forum discussion on the position of the anthropologist in the study of xenophobia has been published in Antropologicheskii forum / Forum for Anthropology and Culture (2008, No. 8). For the online pdf version of this forum click here.
We are also organising two workshops (in St Petersburg in 2008 and in Ireland in 2010), one postgraduate conference (in Oxford in 2008), and two major international conferences (in Oxford in 2009). For details click here.
Papers from our workshop on 'Soviet Memory' are now available in Neprikosnovennyi zapas, No. 64 (2009, No. 2). For access to the online version of these articles click here.
Finally, we intend to turn this website into a usable research resource, with an annotated international database of research on Russian nationalism.
A preliminary outline bibliography of key sources can be accessed here.
Samples from interviews collected for an earlier project using life histories are available here.
Full interviews are stored at the Oxford Russian Life History Archive.
