The Faculty is sad to learn that Dr Gerald Stone FBA, University Lecturer in non-Russian Slavonic Languages and Fellow of Hertford College (1972 -1999), died on 11 September after a short illness. He was a distinguished scholar and kind colleague, and the moving force behind the introduction of Polish to our course.
