Dr Luca Costa has won an MHRA research scholarship which he’ll hold within the Faculty.  These are highly sought after awards that provide funding for exceptional individuals who are in their early postdoctoral phase to enable them to revise their thesis for publication.

His monograph, Giacomo Leopardi and the Roots of Existentialism, redefines the origins of existentialism by positioning the Italian poet and philosopher Giacomo Leopardi (1798-1837) as the initiator of atheistic existentialism.
