A workshop on French writer Louise d'Epinay took place in Oxford as part of an international project on her Histoire de Madame de Montbrillant. There were rich exchanges about various aspects of the novel during discussions at All Souls College and the Maison Française d'Oxford, led by Professor Odile Richard of the Université de Limoges. Participants from France (Prof. Pierre Chartier, Paris; Prof. Françoise Gevrey, Tours; Dr Laurence Vanoflen, Nanterre), the United States (Prof. Rebecca Crisafulli, St Anselm College; Prof. Julie Hayes, University of Massachussets, Amherst), Tunisia (Dr Salwa Taktak) and Poland (Dr Andrzej Rabszlyn, University of Silesia) were welcomed by Professor Catriona Seth and Professor Kate Tunstall.  A keynote presentation by Dr Marie-Eve Celio of the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (Geneva) on portraits of Louise d'Epinay by Liotard (and his successors) was greatly enjoyed by all.
