Renowned French writer Kamel Daoud gave the 2026 Zaharoff lecture on the topic «L’écrivain algérien: peut-il passer du muet au parlant sans perdre son rôle dans le cinéma du monde?» The audience was fascinated by his wide-ranging reflection on literature and belonging and on the ways in which individual authors' voices can be heard. On the following day, he was in conversation with Professor Catriona Seth at the Maison Française in front of a packed audience.
